Average Speed Cameras on A90

06 August 2015

Why have safety cameras been installed on the A90?

06 August 2015

Safety cameras in the form of average speed cameras are necessary to ensure the safety of road users and the workforce during construction on the live road network as part of the Forth Replacement Crossing project.

Where on the A90 are the cameras installed?

There are currently four average-speed safety camera locations along the length of the A90 northbound between Echline Junction and Admiralty Junction. These are at the following locations:

  • At the south end of the existing Forth Road Bridge.
  • At the south end of former Welldean Layby, north of the existing Forth Road Bridge.
  • Approximately 150m south of the Dunfermline Wynd overbridge (just north of the B980 Castlandhill Road on-slip).
  • Adjacent to the start of the off-slip for Admiralty Junction.

The safety cameras will be removed upon completion of the project.
