A day following the Forth Bridges Trail is always a day well spent. You'll get up close to the bridges, enjoy panoramic views, learn about local history and folklore, and maybe spot our playful dolphins.
At the foot of the bridges lie the charming historic communities of North and South Queensferry. With the look and feel of traditional Scottish fishing villages, both make for a delightful stay with plenty to see and do.
Head for the miniature lighthouse and musem in North Queensferry followed by the beautifully restored Victorian Station and Heritage Centre. Take a bucket list train ride across the Forth Bridge and explore the High Street and narrow lanes of South Queensferry before heading to Port Edgar Marina to potter around the boats and restaurants.
It's just a short train hop into Edinburgh and Dunfermline and only an hour from the golfing delights of St Andrews. Some of Scotland's most iconic attractions - The Falkirk Wheel, The Kelpies, Blackness Castle and Linlithgow, are also within easy reach. And of course, the bridges are right on the stunning John Muir Way, Pilgrim Way and Fife Coastal Path.
