Due to essential maintenance the West Footpath is closed, except weekends.
Access RestrictionsThree roadside gateway signs for Queensferry have been refurbished by the Forth Bridges Tourism Group as part of the Forth Bridges Trail signage programme.
The three signs were originally installed in 1999 and have been meticulously refurbished by Ratho Byres Forge and painted in Forth Bridge Red to match the Forth Bridges Trail signs.
Following valuable guidance from the Queensferry Heritage Trust, the colours on the coat of arms of the former Royal Burgh of Queensferry have been closely matched to the description in the Lyon Register as part of the project.
Two of the signs have also been relocated to reflect the expanded Queensferry boundary, on the B800 opposite Briggers Brae and now on the corner of Boness Road and Builyeon Road. The Hawes Brae sign has been replaced in its original location.
The project was funded through the City of Edinburgh Council by the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund.
