Access RestrictionsThe Round The Inner Forth Cycle Route is a new circular 70 mile route developed by Sustrans in partnership with Climate FORTH.
New signage makes the route easy to follow, and it can be completed as an epic two day adventure, or broken down into sections for a day trip.
You'll reach locations that can't be accessed by car, and along the route you'll see:
The route is being made more accessible thanks to the innovative free Inner Forth Bike Bus service which runs on Sundays from April to October and allows you to cycle a section and then catch the Bike Bus back to your starting point.
Each section has a route map and itinerary which includes the essentials such as toilets and where to eat and drink!
Beneath the Three Bridges Route
This intermediate circular 17 mile route uses minor roads, the canal towpath and cycle paths to take in Dundas Castle, Blackness Castle, Hopetoun House and House of The Binns.
Along the way, you'll get some incredible views of the three bridges, especially as you cycle beneath them towards the end of the route.
Toilets and refreshments are available in South Queensferry, Blackness and in the grounds of Hopetoun House.
If you'd prefer a shorter route, there is a clearly marked shortcut which reduces the route to 10 miles.
