Twin Telescope on the Viewing Platform

Further to receipt of planning permission from the City of Edinburgh Council, Transport Scotland are currently working on appointing a company to supply and install a twin telescope on the viewing platform that’s located next to the Contact & Education Centre at South Queensferry.

It will be a twin telescope, similar to the one in the picture above, and will also offer those with mobility challenges the opportunity to enjoy a closer view of all three magnificent bridges.

It will cost £1 to use the telescope with both shutters opening, offering simultaneous duel use to keep all the family happy. Not only will you get to view the bridges in a way you never have before, you will also be treated to a 90 second narration in a language of your choice, including;

• French
• German
• Spanish
• Mandarin

In addition, the telescopes will have restrictions added, with limited horizontal and vertical movements to ensure the privacy of nearby residents isn’t compromised but whilst also enjoying an unobstructed view of all the bridges.

It is anticipated the telescope will be installed in August/ September 2021.
