Children’s Charity Offers Exclusive Forth Bridge Experience

06 June 2018

Children’s charity, Barnardo’s Scotland, is to offer the public one of the most sought-after experiences in Scotland – a view from the top of the iconic Forth Bridge, taking place in September.

Following a very successful fundraising event last year, charity partners Network Rail and Balfour Beatty are once again supporting the charity and offering members of the public an exclusive opportunity to ascend, by hoist, over 360ft to the top of the Forth Bridge.

The event, Your View 18, will take place on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 September, with approximately 600 spaces available.

Tickets, £50 per person, will go on sale on 26 June.  Pre-sale tickets will be available on 25 June to those who have registered their interest on the charities website www.barnardos.org.uk/forthbridge

Events Manager for Barnardo’s, Jordyn Armstrong, said: “We’re very excited to have the opportunity to run this special event again. Every one of the participants who took part last year had an amazing experience.  We’re extremely grateful to Network Rail and Balfour Beatty for making this happen, we’re looking forward to another fantastic fundraising event.

“We urge people to register their interest for the tickets as they sold out extremely quickly last year.”

Barnardo’s Scotland supporter, Charlie Reid, from the Proclaimers, enjoyed his Your View experience last year, and is encouraging people to support the event, Charlie said: "Barnardo's Scotland do fantastic work in the child caring sector and our engagements with them over the years has always been very positive. I can say personally their Your View experience is a fantastic idea fully worth supporting."

David Dickson, infrastructure director for Network Rail said: “Network Rail is committed to improving the lives of communities surrounding the railway that is why our employees have chosen to support Barnardo’s as our Charity of Choice. We are delighted to donate this opportunity to experience the breath-taking views from the top of the 360ft-high Forth Bridge to support the charity’s drive to raise funds for their worthy cause.”

All funds raised from Your View 18 will go to Barnardo’s Scotland community-based services supporting children and young people in Fife and across Scotland.

You can register your interest for pre-sale tickets at www.barnardos.org.uk/forthbridge
