Flags go up along the High Street and shops are decorated, bring a real festival feel to Queensferry.
Ferry Fair Friday (9 August) starts early with The Burryman starting his walk from The Staghead Hotel and touring the burgh before returning at 6.00 pm.
Ferry Fair Day (10 August) is the most exciting day of the year for a lot of local children (and adults!). This is the day that all the children in the Court get dressed up and take part in the Tour of the Burgh before the Main Procession takes us along the High Street for the formal crowning of the Ferry Fair Queen by our Gracious Person.

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is one of the greatest celebrations of arts and culture on the planet. It takes place every August, right on our doorstep in Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital city.
Just a short train hop from the centre of Edinburgh, be sure to add the Forth Bridges to your itinerary. Or, stay in one of the lovely hotels in Queensferry and, after a busy time taking in all the events, retire to the feel of a traditional Scottish fishing village.
