Visit Fife

Fife might be small but it has always been at the heart of Scotland's history.

Visit to explore an abundance of castles. There's Aberdour, Balcomie, Balgonie, Ballinbreich, Blairadam, Donibristle, Dunimarle, Lordscairnie, Parbroath and St Andrews. Plus of course, the magnificent Dunfermline Palace. That's plenty to keep you busy!

Home of Golf

Perhaps Fife is most famous though as the home of golf. The area boasts over 50 courses, including the iconic fairways of St Andrews. Whatever your handicap, you're sure to find something to delight at the Fife Golf Partnership website which showcases everything on offer.

To the south of St Andrews, East Neuk is home to the tiny wee fishing villages of Anstruther, Crail, St Monans and Pittenweem. Expect spectacular coastlines and fabulous fresh fish and shellfish.

The Fife coastline is great for walking with both circular and liner routes which have been way marked and graded. As you walk, you're likely to spot grey seals and, in summer, basking sharks and dolphins. Inchcolm and Inchkeith islands are home to colonies of seabirds and puffins can been found on the Isle of May.

Home to Dunfermline, Scotland's eighth city, Fife has a thriving arts scene. Take a stroll down Cowdenbeath High Street to enjoy the stunning giant murals or visit Glenrothes to see the distinctive collection of public art. Fife is a place of makers and there are lots of independent shops and exhibitions.
